About Daniel Barsch

Hi, I’m Dan. I am a licensed, insured general contractor and I’ve been honing my craft for over seventeen years and hundreds of projects. During that time, I have been inspired by the craftsman and woodworkers I worked with, carpentry classics like The Village Carpenter, and the elegant simplicity of Japanese design. I also learned a lot from taking a master class with the great Roy Underhill (you may have seen him on PBS). He was a brilliant man and an incredible artisan.

Another high point in my education was the time I spent living and working in Austria in 2010. I loved how connected our work was to the land itself and the wider traditions and history of the culture around us, and how all of that was expressed in the unique style of the objects we were making. Whether I am doing a simple repair job or a big kitchen remodel, that’s the ethos I try to bring to each and every project.

I love collaborating on beautiful, purposeful spaces that simply feel good to be in…even when you are doing chores or cleaning up. As a kid, I noticed that I was always changing and tweaking my room and my living space to feel better and function more efficiently. To be able to share that gift with other people is truly meaningful.
